SERVICE CHARGES
I WAS WONDERING IF YOU CHARGE A SERVICE CALL/ CALL OUT FEE FOR COMING TO MY HOUSE?
Yes, we do usually charge a service call charge for coming to your home. This includes the trip charge to your home, Diagnostics of your cooling or heating system, and an itemized list of the problems that we see, and what is necessary to correct the problem. Then we will give you prices to repair each problem that we find that is giving you problems, or will cause you problems in the future. We charge by the specific job, and we do not base our price on an hourly charge. You should not be charged more, just because we take longer than expected. The price you are quoted, is the price that you will be charged.

I LOOKED OUTSIDE MY HOUSE, ON MY CONDENSER, AND THE LINES ARE COVERED IN ICE. IS THIS NORMAL?
This is called “freezing up” and is much more common than you would think. There are many problems that can cause this, and sometimes it takes several trips to your home to solve the problem. Whenever you see ice on the copper lines outside, turn off your system. It isn’t cooling your home, and you are wasting electricity trying to run it with the ice on it. The ice outside is only a small portion of the ice that is present. Inside your evaporator coil, the one in your home, is considerably more ice and it usually takes about 4-6 hours to melt. It really needs to thaw out, because if a service technician comes to your home, and the system is frozen up, the technician will have you turn off your system, and in most cases, it will be either very late in the day, or the next day before anything can be done to correct this problem. It is much better to try to diagnose the problem with your system, if the ice is melted, so the technician can test each component of your cooling system. One of the best ways to avoid having your system freezing up, is to always change your air filter on a monthly basis. Dirty air filters cause the system to freeze up in most cases. And for about $5.00 per month, your system will work better, cool better, and SAVE you MONEY on your electric bill.

I HAVE A NEW HOME THAT IS ONLY A COUPLE OF YEARS OLD. I’M SURE THAT MY NEW AIR CONDITIONING EQUIPMENT IS ONLY ABOUT 3 YEARS OLD. I’M HAVING PROBLEMS WITH IT AND WANT A COMPANY THAT CAN GET WARRANTY REPAIRS DONE ON THE NEW EQUIPMENT, IF IT IS COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. AllPro Heating & AC is an authorized warranty service company for most brands of air conditioning cooling and heating equipment. Our service technicians are factory trained to offer superior service to the home owner whether the equipment is new and under a factory warranty or older, existing equipment.

I can look out of my window and see water dripping from the little pipe under my roof. Should I call the AC technician for repairs? Yes you should call an AC technician as soon as this is noticed. This is a visible warning that your air conditioner in the attic is leaking water. If this is ignored, you could suffer severe damage to your ceiling and walls.

I have very little air flow coming out of my vents and my house does not cool good on hot days. Should I call an AC technician to come look at my air conditioning? Yes you should! You should have about 5-6 feet of air coming out of your vents in order to have good cooling on hot days. There could be a variety of reasons for this, and a good air conditioning technician is the best source for finding out what the problems are, and the best course of action to have the proper repairs performed. We are experts in this field, and can offer affordable solutions to this problem, and catch other problems before they occur.

I don’t get very good heating in the Winter. Is there a reason for this? There are many reasons that this could occur. Usually poor heating is reflected in your electricity bills, and the home being cold. This can be caused by quite a few problems, all of which can usually be corrected affordably by a qualified heating technician. It can be caused by a variety of reasons, some from the equipment outside, and some from the equipment inside. A heating specialist is your best choice for repairing this problem. Call now before cold Winter starts.
